Happy Monday,
I missed out on publishing an episode last week. I really was busy with my new position as Head of APAC for Copper.co that I started in February this year. The crypto market is booming at the moment and there’s no shortage of work to be done. I apologize for the tardiness. However, I got a great episode to introduce to you all!
Is it possible to live a life in tranquility when you have to face the forces of capitalism in your everyday life? You have sale targets to hit, shareholders you have to answer to, and make sure your family is provided for. Does the life of zen can really exist in this busy modern lifestyle that we experience?
In this episode, I speak with Dan Tricarico, a Zen teacher, who has left his life as a school teacher and been teaching how to incorporate zen into the capitalistic society we live in. We always talk about work-life balance but he tells us it isn't the balance that we should be seeking but the harmonization. It's not about looking for a 50/50 split but a unification of both and finding peace within both.
Here in this episode, we learn about;
- How Darwinism shouldn't be mixed with capitalism
- How education should be less about capitalistic drives
- How to make zen co-exist with corporate life
- The 3 teachings that make the unification of zen live within capitalism
- How to reevaluate what you want out of life
Dan Tricarico is the author of the books The Zen Teacher: Creating Focus, Simplicity, and Tranquility in the Classroom and Sanctuaries: Self-Care Secrets for Stressed-Out Teachers and teaches Zen to corporate and school teachers. He also has a podcast called The Zen Teacher Experience.
Listen to the episode on Apple, Overcast, Spotify, YouTube, and many more.
Have a great week ahead!
Yours Truly,
Takatoshi
